OT--for those who use cell phones instead of "land lines"

I know that many people today use their cell phones as their only phone service. This can be annoying in some home areas, due to poor reception.  I noted an item on QVC yesterday. It's a 2 phone cordless system that works with your cell phone. If your cell phone is blue tooth enabled, you can connect with the blue tooth unit hooked to these phones. This unit allows two separate cell phones to connect to these cordless phones for home use. So you have the ability to answer your cell phone in your home on these cordless phones, and it's automatically connected via blue tooth technology. Price for the two phones and the blue tooth enabler was around $56. I thought it might be worth mentioning, as this is the first phone of this type I've actually seen. Dave

I forgot to include the link. It's :

There are only 5 reviews there currently. 4 of them are 4 or 5 out of 5 stars. One was a one star review, probably from a technology challenged person. DAVE

I've used the Magic Jack for a year now. It appears to work fine 99% of the time. Every once in a while, when someone calls me on their Vonage unit or other VOIP, there are some "missed words" like with some cell phone calls. It only works when your computer is on, but it will record any messages on your computer as a WAV file. I have 3 home portable phones hooked up to this. The Magic Jack will only allow one of their phone lines per computer. A friend of mine who told me about it, has tried to use it for faxing, and there seem to be some issues here. But for phone service, it appears to be very dependable. You just won't get incoming phone calls if your computer is off. You can view any messages in your inbox when you turn on your computer. DAVE

Thanks a lot. By the way - they are also offered on amazon and other sites.

I am not sure if I but this one  - since they do not "rank high enough" but I wanted a phone like that forever.  A 2 years ago they do not offer a phone taht would work without a land line.

Thanks Dave
