OT- Hard to believe it has been four years today......

These are my little angels now four years later.  I have to brag and show my babies!   i am SO PROUD OF THEM!  They have totally made me who i am today!

Thank you for telling us your truly inspirational story. I'm happy something so horrible ended up causing so much wonderful things in your life. Just remember, If your kids are strong and capable, it's because you helped make them that way! I'm sure you are an inspiration not only to your children but your husband and friends.

 i tell ya, those four guys inspire ME!

i live in pascagoula, mississippi.  My husband and i had just got married when katrina hit.  Although we have moved over the last 4 years, we ended up back here a couple of miles where our house was.  Isnt is strange how in some places, it looks like it just happened yesterday.

You are so right.  Over in Bay St. louis, my old neighborhood still looks like the picture above.  NO ONE has rebuilt.  it is so sad.  Basically no one could because of insurance.  My father sold his waterfront property and now lives in Perkinston on 110 acres FAR INLAND.

My company does a lot of business at the Chevron refinery in Pgoula and I just remember how icky that stretch was going to vessels there for so long.  What struck me the most was that Pascagoula and Mobile etc. were almost 100 miles from the eye and look how bad the damage was?????   AMAZING.....and New Orleans- 60 miles WEST of they eye and look at their flooding?  It was a monster for sure.  I really hope the US doesn't see another one that strong ever again!

We were in gulfport last night and there are still some areas that look no different.  Glad to see Jackson and Harrison counties coming back and i really hope in the next five years or so, Han**** will too.  We are just not sure what to do with my property.  I kow i will NEVER live there again, but cannot make myself put that for sale sign up just yet........

SO SORRY for your loss and glad you seem to be doing well now too.  What a way to start a marriage! 

Thank you for sharing!  I hope you are proud of yourself too.  I hope some that are feeling down or bad right now read this too and just see an example of how bad things can be as well as how they can improve.

Thank you, i just feel bad for the people who didnt get their happy ending yet and hope it comes soon!  I have been back in a house for almost two years, my dad and brother both just got out of FEMA trailers six months ago and so many people will probably never be back to normal. 

Thank you so much for this inspirational message.   I really needed to hear that today.    I had a VERY difficult week at work but your post helps me see my difficulties this week in a new light.    Compared to what you went through 4 years ago, my struggles are all very trivial.    Kind of puts a new perspective on things.

Your story is a perfect example of your last comment.   What seemed insurmountable to you four years ago has turned into a tremendous blessing.  May God continue to bless you, your family and the charity that you have founded.
