So I really looked at myself...
in the mirror this morning...naked...and what I saw was a woman becoming slim. My upper torso looks so skinny...my belly has a lot of work to be done...my legs are a little saggy...but I have colar bones...hip bones...KNEES....defined square shoulders....omg!
I came out teary...my fiance just held me and asked what was wrong...I explained to him all my life I have tried so many weight loss plans...nothing worked...I was afraid of failing again....but now I look in the mirror and see success.
Oh God...how emotional can one get???

It's great that you're doing the 'long look in the mirror' thing. It's hard, but I believe it really helps us accept the body we're given.
In fact, the pscyhologist who works wtih my surgeon's office tells us often that it takes 5 years for our brain to truly see our new body image in the mirror. Then he laughingly adds "You can cut that time down if you spend long period of time naked in front of the mirror." --- maybe it's a joke when he says it, but I really believe it's true. The more we look at ourselves and realize the positive changes and look at the good things and acknowledge the areas that still need work - the sooner we'll be able to accept the self image we're in the midst of creating.
