Hi.  I make my sloppy joes without sugar.  I saute a whole onion and a few cloves of garlic in a little bit of olive oil.  The onion is what adds a sweet flavor without adding any sugar.   Then I add diced tomatoes, mushrooms, and tomato sauce and and italian seasoning to taste - or  - I use the no sugar added spaghetti sauce - this is usually placed on a bottom shelf in the grocery store by the sugar added products - really you have to look for it to find it.  Then I add the meat and sprinkle with cheese or parmasean.

ah, so you make your own.  we just use the Manwich canned stuff. it is really good.  oh well

Yes.  I seem to be really sugar sensitive at this point (13 weeks out) so I do my best to eliminate all sugar.

Couldn't post early because lunch was a wildcard at work-- but I can fill it in now! (I am off tomorrow, maybe I'll be around.) Walked a little before work but am just squeaking past spending about 2000 calories today so I gotta go spend some time with Hanoi Jane. hrm what did i eat today?  *thinks*

B: protein shake
L: homemade chicken enchilada verdes from last night (yum) - 3-4 oz chicken w/ refried beans and cheese, lil sour cream, and low-carb flour tortilla
D: scoop of elbow macaroni topped with 3-4 oz ground beef sauteed with onion & mushrooms & a smidge of sour cream (can you tell i like sour cream?) and some green salad with oil & vinegar (of which i had maybe 1/4 to 1/2 cup.
S: about 1/4 cup squash seeds from spaghetti squash earlier this week - roasted with some olive oil and salt

took my first metformin (500mg) after dinner, rather large tablet, did not cause me any problems.  so far no side effects either.  i will start my synthroid tomorrow morning, i guess.

RNY 6/16/09 - Last weighed 10/27/2011 weighed 151 lost 52 pounds  66% toward personal goal  of 125, six pounds from unofficial unpretentious goal of 145lbs......basically very happy.   boo-rah, RNY!
