how many times do you eat in day?

I know that i eat my 3 meals a day, plus i have snacks in between my breakfast (about 10:30) and also between lunch & dinner(about 3:00). Is this normal? i feel like i am eating every 2 hours.. well, i kinda am. but i feel hungry... ? I dont really eat at night after dinner though, which is odd, since i eat around 6:00 and dont go to bed til about 11:00. Maybe it IS all in my head. I am 5 months out.

today so far:
b: about 1 cup mixed scrambled eggs, green pepper, onions, ham, bacon, susage, few diced potatoes, cheese. (it was 1 cup total, all this stuff mixed together)

S: watermelon.. probably about 15 chunks. I know, alot- but once you chew the stuff, there is hardly anything there. still felt hungry, had 5 combo's. (cheese & pretzle snack things)

L:  1 average chicken leg. i realize now that im still kinda hungry, but im going to fight it off for now. drinking water...

I'll have the last 5 chucks of watermelon for snack later..

I eat EVERY 2 hours...so that's about 6-8 meals aday, depending when I got up..

I try to get 2400 calories in one day because I really only absorb 1000 (due to my complications).

I'm a FREAK!!  LOL

FYI: for snacks - make sure you do more than just carbs - that is why you are hungry - the snack has to be - like a meal - protein first - then something else.

Watermelon is nice - but it is just sugar.. grab a piece of cheese with it - or some nuts or nut butter.  try to spread the calories evenly in the day.  I - on maintnace try to do 200-250 cal per meal + protein shake.
IMO - You could try for 3 x  150-200 cal meals + 2 x 100-150 snacks + 1x protein shake.

5 to 6 times a day.

7am - protein drink
10am - breakfast
1pm - lunch
4:30 - snack
8pm - dinner
10pm - late night snack

Sometimes if dinner is going to be later than normal, I'll have another snack betwen the afternoon snack and dinner.  Sometimes I skip the late night snack, sometimes it ends up being two LNS's.

I agree that you should stick with protein even for your snacks.  I eat my three meals/day plus three snacks.  Meals around 200 and snacks 100-150.  I aim for 80 gr. protein/day. 


20 pounds lost during two week pre-op diet.

Thanks for the input! i will try to do protein, thats probably my problem.. I haevnt found a protein drink i can stomach, so i gave up- surgeon said it was ok as long as im eating protein at my meals. I'll stock up on cheese... i feel like people look at me like im eating so much though!! since im almost always eating! (well, not really, but more times than they are!) oh well.. weight is still coming off decently, so who cares what "they" think, right!?
