Why am I not losing?
Ok, maybe its the liquids Im not getting enough of. For breakfast I have a protein drink, for lunch usually cottage cheese with pineapple and for dinner I have about a cup or cup and a half of whatever I fix the family. Very seldom snacking. I usually get in about 20 oz of water on top of the protein. But I wouldnt think the liquids could be that important? Im riding my bike for exercise but not daily as Im just starting and dont want to make myself sore so that I wont ride it anymore so Im starting out slow. Any other ideas?
You're not getting enough protein or liquids. Way way too low. That's why you're not losing.
You need 60-85 grams of protein per day and I would keep your calories at least to 700-800 per day. You need to be drinking much more fluid too. Your weight loss will literally stop eating the way you are. I imagine your body thinks it's starving.
Your body can't absorb your entire days' protein in one sitting either. You need to spread it out. Also, try to get your protein in with foods - rather than drinking it, as that won't work long-term.
Try boiled or broiled seafood (boiled cold shrimp, tuna, talapia, cod,).
Try endamame for a snack. You must get in your protein. Aside from not getting sick, you are playing havoc with your metabolism. Don't be afraid to eat healthy foods. Literally, your weight loss will stop if you keep doing what you are doing. You have this wonderful window of time to lose most or all of your excess weight. Try not to squander it by eating so little that you don't lose. Just stay away from carbs (bread, rice, pasta, corn, potatoes - things like that) and you'll be fine.
