tape sticky from surgery

hi.

just had rny surgery last week..all good. but the tape residue is itchy and does not come off with soap and water.....any hints? thanks.

 alcohol should work.

Is it tape residue or surgical glue? If they used surgical glue to close your incisions you may want to leave it a bit longer.

I tried alcohol, finger nail polish remover, soap, soap, and more soap!!!! NOTHING worked!!! After about a week or so....I was able to "roll" it off with my fingers/nails right after getting out of a hot shower....go figure! lol Good Luck with that!!

try some baby oil or vegetable oil....worked for me. and sooths the skin

I second the oil, but if your incisions are still healing try not to come in contact with them directly.

Goo Gone works, but don't get it on your incisions.

PEANUT BUTTER!!! It works...but prolly because of the oil that's in it. =)+

If it is liquid stitches then leave it aloneand don't pick at the incisions.  If it is just tape residue be careful not to pull any stitches or anything out of place. 

oh I so understand the sticky tape... ugggh I just had my surgery 3 weeks ago and it took forever to get the tape off. I tried babyoil, it came off a bit, but most of it I just had to wait about a week and a half to two weeks and starting peeling it off with my fingernails in the shower!
