I'm four weeks out today and started last week taking my pills whole.  I take a bunch and stopped taking them (very bad idea) because crushing them was making me vomit each time.  Time them about 5 minutes apart when you take em.

Depends on who you ask.  I took pills the same day I had surgery.  Some docs say to wait one month, some say wait three months, a few say no pills ever again.

I still cut my pills in half or thirds... takes me about 15 minutes to get them all in...

My Doc said I can start taking my pills when I get home.  That my body will be able to handle one pill at a time with a sip of water...We shall see how it goes.

I did the pill thing 1 week from surgery with no issues  UNTIL a few weeks out I deveopled a stricture.  Then I got a pill stuck, talk about a day from hell!  I did have that issue taken care of but to this day, I am very careful when taking pills.

The hospital was giving me some of my pills, one's I felt that were too big and they tried cutting they did some switches to accommodate me.  The gagging just wasn't worth it.  I am happy now I just take longer to get my meds in.

Good luck...

My doctor cleared me to take pills at my 5 week post op visit.  It is very important that you take the actigall as soon as you can since they will prevent gallstones.  With out it, you will end up back inthe operating room having your gallbladder out.
