pills no one tole me please help

My surgeon said we can continue to take pills, even immediately out of surgery, as long as they were smaller than a dime. If they're larger, we have to break them up. He also said that this applies ONLY to tablets. We can only have the capsules that can be opened, no caplets, etc.
