PB2 during post-op liquid diet

Hi-
Does anyone know if it is ok to add PB2 to protein shakes during the post-op liquid diet?  I am only 5 days post-op and am starting to struggle a bit with the taste of my shakes.  I am trying to get creative with stuff to add to them to make them taste better.  I love peanut butter, so I think PB2 would be a good option, but I am not sure if it ok this early out.

My nutritionist told me to wait until I was four months out before trying anything peanut butter related because it causes many patients to have pouch ouch.

Try some of the many sugar free flavorings - vanilla, strawberry, lemon, etc.  and the Davinci s/f flavors too.

Thanks!  I have some of the sf syrups, but I can still taste and SMELL that protein-y flavor.....I have to figure out a way to mask it!!  I thought I was good and then today, it really started to bug me.

I wish I could try CLICK, because I love coffee and I think might be the answer.....but I need to stay away from caffeine this early out.  Eventually, though.....that's going to be the one for me!

Thanks for your suggestions!

I use instant Decaf coffee crystals.  Make a strong cup with cool tap water & then shake with Unjury protein powder (or blend with ice).  More grams of protein for less calories then Click.

THANK YOU!!!!   What a great idea!  I have a whole canister of Unjury and have had trouble coming up with ideas for good things to put it in.    Mmmm....sounds so good!

Just had a big NUT class.  She said the PB2 powder/peanut butter flour would be fine to put in shakes.  I'm going to use it ;-) My surgery is Monday!  Wish me luck!

I am 4 days post op, and I really understand the need for protein.  I can't drink much at a sitting until I am too full, and I feel so weak.   I am trying to drink cream of chicken, tomato, yogurt, etc... but not enough protein.  What protein shakes are you drinking that taste so bad?   I found the Optifast to be good.  Any other good new post op ideas?

So far, I have tried Body Fortress and GNC.  They both have that protein-y taste and smell.  I think that I just have to find ways to mask it with other good stuff...I think they are all going to taste like that.

I will keep trying!!  I am not allowed to do yogurt until week #3, but as soon as I am able, I plan to get as much protein as I can from Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, etc.  I know I will still need to do some shakes, but these two weeks of all liquids are tough because all of my protein needs to come from shakes.

I am keeping it all in perspective though.....what's two weeks in the course of a lifetime???  I am already almost halfway through the two weeks, and it will only get better from here!  (She says as she pinches her nose and dives into another STINKY shake!!)

my nut recommended gnc lean shakes they are pre made and taste good. Right now i got pumpkin spice and its a seasonal flavor and its awesome and im not much of a pumpkin person. Im still pre op due to insurance issues because my bmi wasnt still 50 or above after my 6 mos weight loss which is a croc. I tried the gnc lean shake 25 powder in chocolate. It has an after taste i think but im using it up prior to surgery. I got samples of unjery powder in chocolate and love it. So now i have to go back to the surgeon in jan to see if my bmi went up. Basically my insurance told me since i lost weight in order to approve for surgery i would have to gain some of my weight back which would be 6 lbs. I try to make sure my protein shakes are really really cold. You can only get pumpkin spice during the holidays. If you ask the person at gnc will give you a sample of it to drink
