feet and hand size after rny gastric bypass
Yes, I went from a size 10 1/2 EEE to a 9 1/2 shoe, normal width. My fingers have all shrunk and my rings all fit again, and some are getting really loose.

I am only two months out but I can fit all of my sandals that are just 9 which I have not been able to wear in several years, actually I was last able to fit them 9 years ago. I was wearing a 8.5 W or a 9 W and the sandals in a 9W I wore out tonite are too big. My newest bracelet had to be put on me with the extension two weeks before surgery now I just wear it. My hand are smaller too, but I have not tried on rings because water retention is a major issue for me.
I am hoping I don't need to take anythign for water retention next month when I travel. Constant issue for me my entire life, swollen feet and ankles when I travel and when the weather is warm. So far so good but only 2 months out and real summer had ended here in the northeast.

Many post op women end up getting smaller shoe sizes. Part of the reason may be that the reduced fat content in the body may narrow the foot, allowing a smaller narrower shoe size. As far as hands, I've heard of many women getting rings resized, but really haven't heard of overall "chubyiness" of hands diminishing. My guess that you'd lose some wider definition of the hand, but unsure if the overal proportioning would go away. DAVE

I went from a size 8 1/2 wide to a 7 normal in feet
in ring sizes from a ring 10 1/2 to a 5 1/2 and that's pretty loose... I couln't get a smaller size, because it wouln't get past the knuckle.

March 9, 2011 - Coccygectomy!
I chased my dreams, and my dreams, they caught me!
My feet went from a 7.5 to a 6-6.5. Heels are a cake walk now! My wedding ring went from a 4.75 to a 3.5. The ring I use to wear on my right ring finger now fits on my middle finger.

I am a little more than a month out but have lost 58 lbs in total (32 of those pre op) and my shoes are too big. I can make due with sneakers because you can tighten them but I'll need some new dress shoes for sure. All of my rings are too big too but I am waiting until I reach goal to have them resized, for the time being I have them on a chain around my neck.
Mine did! I was wearing an 8 or 8W, and now wear 7 1/2 and sometimes even a 7. Some rings that I bought prior to WLS no longer fit...that is a bummer.
And as far as heels go, I always wore them even at my heaviest...but paid the price after about 15-30 minutes. Pain, major pain. Now, I can wear the highest heels and stand for hours without pain - it is awesome! My high heel shopping habit is out of control!

My surgery is in four weeks, but I know from previous experience with weight gain and loss that your hands will definitely lose weight -- though nothing as dramatic as the rest of your body. At my heaviest, I wear a size 8 ring -- but when I've been lighter, I've worn a size six. I have small hands, though, so who knows what size ring I'll wear post-op when I've lost all my weight!
