Hot drinks and curdled protein powder
I'm straining my hot chocolate through my teeth right now. (And won't that make for a scary smile!)
I'm not sure why it curdled, I mixed the PP with the Swiss Miss No Added Sugar and cold milk, and stirred it smooth before I microwaved it. Usually if I start cold and then heat it up it's ok, but sometimes it just doesn't work. And I skimmed of the first lumps, only to realize that it's curdling as I drink! Is ther still any protein in it if I'm filtering out the curdles, I wonder?
Have any of you found some brands more or less likely to curdle than others? I really would like to be able to use PP hot more often as the weather gets cruddier, if possible.
(This Six Star Muscle's "Double Chocolate Supreme" that I bought at GNC, BTW.)

I didn't think you could microwave the protein powder at all with out it curdling. I drink protein powder in coffee or hot chocolate. But I always mix the protein with milk or water to make a paste and then slowly add the ho****er/coffee to that mixture (that mixture needs to be coffee pot temp not warmer or it will cook the protein too)
That’s not true. You can make protein drinks hotter than that but you have to know how.

When I make mine, while my water is in the microwave, I put the protein powder in the mug, add a splash of tap water, and stir until I have a smooth paste. Then I pour my hot water in & stir well, after that I add the milk. There was a lot of trial & error with hot drinks until Pam gave me this tip. Since then, nothing but nice, smooth drinks. Hope this helps!
