I had my first post op appt today and my dr wants me to start taking Calcium Citrate w/Vitamin D - 1500 mg/day chewable.  Celebrate Vitamins has 1000mg of calcium citrate, 1000 iu of vitamin D chewable.  Would this take care of the requirment?

From what I understand you can't absorb more then 500 mg at a time. If the doses are 500 mg each then it should be ok. I don't know of any calcium that comes in bigger doses then 500 mg each.

 I use Upcal D
It is a powder that you can mix in just about anything and 3 a day meet my requirements.
a 40 day supply was only $13.
It comes in a can with a scoop or individual packets which are great for me to keep in my car and purse in case I forget to take it!

Check the serving size.

Meeting their requirement of D doesn't meet your body's requirement, though.

No.  Your doc wants you to have 1500 mg calcium citrate because that's what the ASMBS recommends.  You can take 1500 mg of the Celebrate, but 1000 mg of it does not meet your doc's recommendation.
