Massage the day before Surgery?

Hi everyone,

I am having my RNY surgery on Wednesday. My family is offering to send me on a day of pampering: Massage, facial, manicure and pedicure.

Can you think of any reason this WOULD NOT be a good idea?

I think the massage would feel really nice, especially while I still have the fat to fill in my skin!

I can't really think of a reason not to, but I would use clear polish for my mani and pedi as I know my surgury checklist said no fingernail polish.  (I have had 7 surgeries since and have worn pulish, but just in case!
The day before my surgery I took some decaf tea and a book and floated in my friends pool ALL day!

OMG!!! Enjoy.  You deserve it and I see no reason why you should not take advantage of their offer.  That sounds like a plan.  Maybe I will treat myself to the spa before surgery and just have a day to reflect. :)

I would have the massage sooner than later.  Massages tend to release toxins so I suggest that you avoid a day or two before surgery.  Also, I suggest you drink plenty of water afterwards.  Other than that, enjoy!, enjoy!

Good luck on Wednesday!
