Yup.  Depends on your height and the resulting bmi.  Also, if you have any co-morbidities.

 I am 5'2 BMI 42 dr said must over 40 BMI. I still can get surgery. Right? 3 weeks ago I went to see dr PCP family practice said I can go for surgery.

depending on your height and whether or not there are co-morbidities such as high blood pressure, sleep apnea, etc. The insurance companies go by your Body Mass Index, BMI.

Yes my high was 229 I am down a little to 218 and I get my surgery on Febuary 10th.

 What is your height with 229 lbs? I am 5'2 height my highest 230 lbs right now. Dr told me I can still go for surgery over 40 BMI. I am 42 BMI.

It depends on your height and your insurance (all insurance policies have minimum BMI requirements)...  someone who is 230 pounds but 6 feet tall would not qualify but someone who is 230 pounds and only a little over 5 ft tall likely would qualify.

I am 5'1 and weigh 239. My BMI is 45. I do not have any co-morbidities. The Bariactrics center feels I will have no problem getting approved. Lets hope they are right.
