Okay, I am totally addicted to pickle juice

I just want to make sure that it is okay to drink. I am most concerned with the vinegar in it. Just want to double check, because I love the stuff. I know the sodium in it is bad for you, and have heard that it could make me retain water. But still.....
Thanks in advance everyone for all your input!

Watch the sodium, and make sure your pouch can handle the acidic vinegar, but I used it quite a bit in the pureed stage...I would use it to thin down my tuna salad in the puree mixer, or even for my chicken salad...YUMMY!

I sure hope its OK!!  I am totally addicted to pickles and usually when getting one out I will grab a quick small drink of it.  If I had to give up vinegary stuff, I'm sunk lol

That's funny. I use to be a pickle eater big time!
Now I have serious cravings for cucumbers. I wash 2 cucumbers, cut them, and put them in a bowl with pepper and vinegar. I notice as I get older...I have weird cravings like i'm pregnant.AND THAT AIN'T HAPPENING.LOL

It's the salt, After surgery not getting in enough sodium (salt) is a real problem for many of use for the first 3-6 months after surgery. We all find our crutches for getting in the necessary salt, I suck on sunflower seeds.
I had to do a liquid diet before surgery. After surgery foods that tasted fine before were like salt licks to me. We need 2,000mg a day but the average American get 4,000mg or more. I was probably taking in 4-6,000 a day before surgery. which is pretty common for us. So I think the pickle juice is just filling a need.

This is amazing!!!  Pickles were the only food item I craved post op.  But, I resisted because of the seeds.  Howvever, before I was cleared for regular foods, I started sipping, then drinking pickle juice!  It was so delicious.  I did just fine!!!!

I hope that pickles are ok.  I went to the movies with my daughter on sunday and had a large dill pickle.  Of course it took me the entire 2 hrs to eat it and ended up giving a fourth of it to my daughter.  It tasted delicious.  Pre op I was never a sweet eater but loved my sour and salty. BTW when the pickle jar was empty in the past I drank the juice too!

My biggest concern would be the sodium  content.   I would be amazed if you were able to find a low sodium pickle or pickle juice.  Course,  small amounts every now and then.... everything in moderation, right?
