SURGERY WITH H PYLORI..???
HI Lora,
I had h pylori for 3 months and they would not schedule my surgery until i tested negative, i tried everything on a triple threat antibiotic for 4 weeks, i google h pylori and orderd manuka honey, and mastic gum, i took baking soda and organic apple cider vinegar (with the mother) i did this for 2 wks and was scheduled for EGD Feb, 9th 2011 test came back negative 2 days later and was scheduled for surgery for March 22, 2011, just hang in there and try to reduce stomach acid the h pylori bacteria lives in the lining of your stomach, so u have to reduce the stomach acid inorder for the antibiotics to kill the bacteria....GOOD LUCK

I've had H Pylori for over 6 years now. I've been to specialists and been treated 6 times with different types of antibiotics. There is nothing that would get rid of it, they consulted with other H Pylori specialists and they told my specialist to stop treatment right away. It was too dangerous for my health and they were killing my immune system. So here I am with the H Pylori I have had many issues with my stomach along with the H Pylori, GERD, Gastric reflux. My specialist suggested me doing the RNY to help my problem and the Bariatric team here in Canada agreed that doing this surgery will improve my problem. They did the surgery on me and I feel great now....So far no issues with the pains I had before surgery. I do have to watch certain foods I eat but than that's part of the RNY program anyway.
The breathe test is very simple, and it will tell if the bacteria is currently living in your stomach. The scope is the best thing that you can do. It will help to identify which specific antibiotic that the bacteria are sensitive to. The pepto is given during the times that you take the antibiotic to somehow make the bug more sensitive the medicine.
The doctors were not able to kill mine off. I still love with them and I am over three years out from surgery. Not recommended, but I have not had any trouble so far.
Good luck with all of it!!
LOra
