5 days after surgery and....

Welcome home. GLad to hear you are feeling better.

Getting on the scale right after surgery can be a real shock.  I gained 14 lbs in less than 72 hours after surgery.  Thankfully I had been doing a lot of reading and knew to expect this. 6 weeks out today and I am down 36 pounds from the start of my pre-op diet.
Just remember that it is just a number and not who you are.

I know it's very common to gain weight after surgery due to fluids, etc. I was just curious as to how many actually waited. I've decided to NOT check the scale until my follow up appointment. I know I'm much higher in weight right now because I can feel it. My tummy is bigger now than before surgery. The swelling is terrible. Plus, I was in the hospital a bit longer than normal so fluids were pumped into me longer than I would have liked it. Thanks all for your support. You make this journey easier!
