OT: Mirena Question for the ladies

Mine lasted about a week after getting the Mirena.  Then barely a spot each month since.  I started my 2 week pre op liquids last Tuesday and I guess the sudden drop in weight fired it up - I have been bleeding sinceSunday.  No where like the floods I have b4, but enought to aggravate.

I've had mine 4 years now and I love it. I don't remember having actual periods after, but I know I spotted off-on randomly for several months. Now I rarely spot at all. I love my IUD. It's so funny to me that I don't bleed anymore during my periods, yet I have all the other symptoms. Without that visual cue sometimes I forget and can't figure out why I'm so bi*chy suddenly LOL

I was on the last day of my period when mine was inserted... that was  like feb 19th and i still spot every once in a while...

 I think as long as you are losing weight, you might have a little more bleeding.  The estrogen that is released as you lose the fat will cause more and/or heavier bleeding.  I have had the Mirena for years and hardly had a period at all.  When I went on a very restrictive diet 2 years ago, all of the sudden I was bleeding again. 
To be sure you should check w/ your doc, but based on the timing I think it has to do w/ your weight loss.
