What can I do...other than walking...to get rid of this "air belly" that I have??? I am 7 days post op and am soooo bloated still from the gas. It won't pass. I feel like if someone stuck a pin in my stomach I'd deflate around the whole room like a balloon! I'm miserable! HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know you posted on this before, but I don't remember what you've tried. Simethecone tabs usually help me - sometimes I take 8 of them.  You might try a Vitamin Shoppe.  I also got some Hyland's Homeopathic gas relief at Whole Food this week, but haven't tried  them yet.  There are charcoal tabs that do OK.  Also try some herbal digestive hot teas.

Try a heating pad to  your tummy and drink hot drinks - causes the small intestine and colon to relax a little.

Are you drinking any milk?  If you are, I would switch to soy or almond as milk can cause gas.

If you are in pain, then I would go to the ER.  Otherwise got to just keep trying things.

A hot soak in the tub with water over your abdomen, maybe.  Try getting some live probiotic (usually refrigerated in Health Food Store) as your intestines may need some helpful bacteria.

Just some ideas.  Best wishes.

Try some tea...the kind that help with intestinal issues. That is what I tried and it helped so much! Even helped my bowels to move releaving gas!  YEA

I do not really have an answer, but I know about two weeks after surgery, I had gotten really uncomfortable.  I had to prop a bunch of pillows on my bed and the next think I knew a ton of air escaped through my mouth, it was the oddest feeling ever.  It was a good feeling as well, finally relief.  I hang in there, it will find its way out, one way or another.

I walked a lot, laid down flat on the bed, heating pad and gas ex.  Boy do I feel your pain.  I thought it would never end but it finally did.  If you are having any dairy that might be something to look into as well.  Also breathing in deeply helped.  Wishing you well.

I am 3 days post op and feel the same. I've found that hot tea, heating pad and walking helps it escapes both ways. I've also experienced what I thought was gas escaping from my bowels to be feces. Yucky I know. Fortunately on the two occasions this happened I was at home. I still feel a heaviness though my abdomen.
