To weigh or not to weigh?

That is the question.

I haven't weighed regularly in years and years.  I see people here obcessing about the scale and I really don't want to go there.  No offense ment to anybody!!  I just don't need anything else to obcess over.  I've already started getting weird about calories ...

So what do you think?  Does the scale keep you accountable or cause more stress?

Thanks!

The scale causes me so much stress. I'm going to try to stay away from it and just use my clothing as a gauge, as well as how I feel about myself, and how exercising affects me. So my vote....
DON'T WEIGH!

Good luck!

For early outs it's usually more stressful so ditch the scale for now. Once you get to maintenance I think it's more important so you can catch the weight gain before it gets out of control.

That makes sense too!  How often do you weigh now in maintenance?

This is a case of "Do as I say, not as I do" . I've weighed myself daily since the day after surgery. LOL. The numbers on the scale were and are just information. They just give me one AREA of improvement. They don't make me depressed or upset. it's just information. Most people however don't have that same attitude especially early out. LOL. Pick one day a week, same time each time and write your weight down.

I didn't weigh at home for nearly 3 months.  I couldn't stand on the scale with my broken leg and foot.  I believe it was a blessing.  If you feel you must weigh, and can't resist the scale, at least limit it to once a week.  But even better to ditch it altogether.  You may know from past experience that a successful weigh-in can give you permission to be a bit casual about the rules.  And if you have been casual, and still have a loss, it can promote even more-read 'cheating'.

Your weight is what it is, a work in progress.  getting on the scale won't change it.

I didn't even think of that!  It does make sense that a loss would make me feel a bit lazy about the rules.

Thanks!
