Here is the recipe I have for Wendy's chili from a Top Secret Recipes cookbook. It really tastes just like wendy's chili. My favorite!!! I plan on using ground chicken instead of ground beef......... Enjoy!!!

Crockpot Chili

2 pounds ground beef, browned
2 cups water
29 oz. tomato sauce
29 oz kidney beans, drained
29 oz pinto beans, drained
1 onion chopped
4 stalks of celery chopped as fine as you can chop it
1 can diced green chilis (in the mexican section of the store)
14 oz. diced tomatoes
2 tsp cumin
3 tsp chili powder
jalapenos or tabasco - optional

Brown the ground beef. Add all ingredients in the crock pot and stir. Make sure to chop the celery very fine so you won't have problems with it in your pouch.  Cook on Low for 7-8 hours.

We usually freeze half of it, and it makes 2 good sized meals.

I don't know if it's a myth, but I've heard that Celery can be very hard on a new postop....all those fibrous strands. I'd be cautious using it.

Yesterday I specifically asked my NUT about celery post op, cause its one of my favorite things to eat....   She said as long as the celery is diced really small it is fine in things like chili, chicken salad, tuna salad, etc.  Just can't eat it like I do now,  by the stalk.

I will revise the recipe I posted to make sure people know they need to dice it as finely as possible before they cook with it.

Thanks for the reminder!
