Hi everyone.  I am now almost 7 weeks out.  At this stage I am allowed moist meats.  In 1 more week I will be released to eat all foods.  I am wondering if some of the veterans think it would be ok for me to have a Low-Fat whole grain waffle (or part of one) with a little sugar free syrup?  I am allowed most things except raw veggies.  I have been wanting a waffle for about a week.  The nutrient stats are as follows per 1 waffle-70 calories, 2.5 gm total fat (0.5 gm saturated fat), 14 gm carbs, 3 gm sugars, 2.5 gm protein.  The sugar-free syrup is per 1/4 cup 30 calories, fat-free and 0 sugars (made with Splenda).  Thanks in advance for any advice :)

My surgeon allowed these waffles on the soft foods stage.  I tried it once right after I got into that stage and it didn't go well but in general, I had problems with food regardless of what stage and what the food was.

BUT, I had a waffle with peanut butter and cinnamon tonight and I was able to eat the eat the whole thing!  I was totally shocked but very happy that I did it!

My surgeon actually suggests putting peanut butter on it with the sugar-free syrup too.  The peanut butter will add protein which is always the focus.

Hope you try it and enjoy it too!
