My mom and I had a huge blow out prior to my having surgery about have surgery at all.  We didn't talk for over a month and it took my brothers intervention to get us on the right track.

Since that time we just haven't talked about my surgery or any of the changes I've gone threw.  Today my mom told me I looked GOOD.  I couldn't believe it, I was so shell shocked I actually didn't really respond.  I didn't know what to say.  But I meant a lot to me to hear her say that.

I feel for ya there! My mom's upset I'm having the surgery but finally had enough sense to realize that as a nurse she only sees the bad effects of WLS. I'd been dreading her visit up here but hearing that your mom can see the light shows me a bit of hope. Wish there was a surgery to fix family problems....

The best thing about Mom's is unconditional love.  You may have your ups and downs.  She loves you and wants what's best.  The real issue is who knows what's best.
