Try Nectar protein drinks and use a sports bottle.  Don't smell before you drink or you won't.

I just graduated from liquids this past Friday.  What I found to work amazingly well was to make a couple of soups and stir in unflavored protein powder into them.  I made  tomato basil bisque and a black bean soup and couldn't tell that there was any protein in them at all.

Another option is to buy the Isopure drinks, which are really delicious IMHO.  If you seem to get an aftertaste with the drink, dilute it with a bit of water or add it to a bottle of Gatorade G2.  Each large bottle is 40 gms protein.  My favorite flavors are Alpine Punch and Grape.

This too shall pass, trust me.  Good luck!

I tried mixing Any Whey into cream of wheat and it tasted and had the texture of added cornmeal.  It was definitely a turn-off.  I've been afraid to try adding it to anything else, but I'll give it another try.

Try diluting the powder in some cool water before adding it To the cereal. This will dissolve the powder and avoid the graininess.

I also use a milk frother which I use to mix my protein in water and funds. It is basically a powered whisk that does a great job of blending the powder and emulsifying it into the liquid. I bought mine for $20 at Bed Bath and Beyond. It has been well worth the money.

Hope this helps!

I feel the same way about shakes, but I have an additional problem. I am lactose intolerant and the whey based shakes are really hard on my system. Any alternatives?

Try blending some silken tofu with a splash of sugar free Torani syrup in a flavor you like. Add a little Silk Soy Milk to thin it out. The Isopure protein drink is great. Tastes like Jolly Rancher candies, of course, not every flavor is great. Just pick on you like. Blending in silken tofu or protein powder with cream of chicken soup is another good way to add in protein. I did get tired of all the sweet flavored protein drinks during the liquid stage.
