My Dr's Office Says Only 14lbs Lost - Eight Days Out

I went in to have the two staples pulled from my stoma - and of course I was weighed. By their scale, I've only lost 14lbs. I felt like crying because by MY scale, it's 20. I have lost inches, and I know it's not only about pounds, but I had really hoped to see more gone.

When your scale said 20, was it first thing in the morning, naked, after peeing? (that's how I weigh)

Were you at your doctor's office, was it first thing in the morning, naked, after peeing?

Clothing adds four to eight pounds..... and I routinely put on FIVE pounds EVERY day

Likely it was (a) a different scale, so it is what it is, (b) you with clothes and (c) later in the day.

Dear Lady - You're right.
No. No. And no. I went in unexpectedly (just to have the staples taken out, everything is fine) at 11am, so I was dressed, and didn't pee before I got on the scale. I did have on two tops and pants. And had put away 2- 20oz bottles of water, and a protein shake at that point. So you're right on all counts. I'm a Dweeb. Thanks for talking me down.

it's a difficult time, you'll have a lot of ups and downs

I lost ONE pound in week two, and ZERO ounces in weeks three, four, five, six, seven, and eight!

I'm at goal, so just relax, enjoy the journey, and know that you have support here!

But YES... When I weigh in at home, it as when I first wake up, buck naked, and after a good long morning tinkle. So, yes. At the doctor's office - none of the above. That's what I meant to say, sorry.

PS ..... MY scale is the ONLY scale that matters to me. It's the official scale so all others are just wrong!

Do you know how much 2 - 20 oz bottles of water and a protein shake weighs?  A LOT!!!  Plus clothes.  There is the 6 lbs difference.  Still 14 lbs. in 8 days is almost 2 lbs. per day.  You are doing great.  Don't sweat it.
