Question??

I posted this over on the main forum but not many have responded to it. I am 6 days post op and went in to weigh today and I have GAINED 6 lbs. I am hoping this is from fluid and swelling from surgery. Have any of you experienced this? I haven't been eating much. Just mostly fluids and very little real food. I'm still on a puree diet. I was just wondering what some of your experiences were.

Yes it is very possible that you are retaining fluids from your I.V. etc. I seen people on here that have gained more than 10lbs! So dont let it worry you it will come off

Oh yes! I know what your feeling, the same thing happend to me. I was so full of gas when i came home and they told me not to get on the scale and what did i do?? Yeah talk about a mind game!! No worries it gets better

Thank God for that..and thank you all for your input. I wasn't told not to get on a scale but it definitely did worry me a little. I thought I was already failing at this and I had lost 87 lbs pre op...

Gas from them filling you with air....if your surgery was lapascopic (sorry spelling) and water weight....don't worry the weight will start to come off soon enough!

i had my surgery last monday and decided to weigh myself the day before i left..... i gained 10 lbs!!!! hard to look at when youve worked so hard pre op but i KNOW it will come off is no time!! No worries!!

I was in the hospital for a long time due to complications and I gained 43 POUNDS of fluid.  It all came off in the first few weeks after I was home though.  It will come back off, never fear.
