As I drop weight, I buy a few items here and there from local stores and or I find a lot of great items at the local good will..however I can only wear them for about 2-3 wks before needing a new size, I am wondering at what point do most go out and buy a entire new closet of clothes...
Do you set a goal for yourself, example a weight or size your comfortable in and try to maintain that ? or do you wait until your body stops dropping the weight?
Just cur
ious, as Im only almost 4months post op, but summers right around the corner...
thanks

I am 3 months out.  I have cleaned out my closet of all of my big clothes with the exception of my largest pair of jeans.  I have purchased new things and some things from goodwill.  I have purchased at a size range I think I will be for summer, but only in shirts.  I have also purchased some things to wear now and that won't look too bad or baggy if they are too big.
It is hard because I want to just buy a ton of things, but that makes no financial sense.
I am currently a 18/20 down from a 26/28.  I know a lot of people that are 18/20, so when i go out of that size, there will be some happy people with barely worn new clothes.

I try to only buy a few essentials because I'd go broke buying new clothes all the time. I also will find things in smaller sizes if they are on sale and I'll shrink into them. When my weight settles I'll buy more of a selection. It also helps to check out thrift stores or craigslist. I got lucky cause my best friend had wls 10 month before I did so I got a lot of clothes that have helped me a lot! Doesn't your local support group do a clothing exchange?

I went for about 4 months before buying any new clothes.  By 4 months, my clothes were way too big.

So, the weather was getting better, Spring was here, the winter had been bitter cold, so I headed to Old Navy for a big time shopping spree.  The shopping spree went on for one year. It was a celebration from me to me.

I went from a size 3XL,  Woman size 24 down to a small / 8 Petite.  Yes, this has been quite a celebration!

I only buy a couple pair of pants and shirts here and there due to the changing in size so rapidly. I am only down from 22 to 16 so far but I am so excited about the size 16.. Been at least 17 years since I have seen this size... If you keep your eyes on clearance racks at old navy,rue21,etc they offer cloths sometimes cheaper than I have found at my local Good will store.
