Salad...
It was actually one of the very first things I tried when I was able to have solids (8 weeks I think???) because I was craving them so bad. I think my body needed the vegetables and the crunch..lol. I always have dark greens/spinach etc..., I never eat iceburg..no nutrition anyway. Just be sure to chew it up really well. I tend to like salads with a few pecans, craisins, feta and stuff like that, but I also do cheese, egg etc... I always make sure I add protein to it. I know some people can't eat them for a long time but I have been able to tolerate them from the get go (once I could eat solids, like I said). Good luck!!!
I loved salads pre-op, but couldn't handle them post-op until about a month ago. Give them a try when your dr. releases you for them, but try a little at a time at first. Hope you get a good salad soon. I really missed them that first year post-op!

Not to burst your bubble but I just started eating salads and I am 1.5 years out from surgery. I just couldn't handle them. Everyone is different so you may have better luck. Most surgeons say wait at least 6 months. Raw veggies are tough on new pouches. Best to wait until everything is good and healed. Enjoy the mushy food.

I was cleared for raw friuts and vegetables at 6 weeks out. I too wanted a salad so badly.
However, I could only eat a bite or two (but it was delicious) for quite a while. Now I can eat about half of a side salad. (almost 5 months out) You have to remember to chew it really really well, cause it is extremely hard to digest.
