Ok a little dramatic....but getting my gallbladder out at 330 so no food or drink for me since last night....I feel like I am reliving my pre op diet minus the shakes...which actually sound delicious right now....wah wah I am starving....that is all...on a bright note I weigh 172.8 today

Oh, yes!  2 yrs ago I had mine out and was schd for 4:30!  They ended up taking me late...I was ready to chew my arm off and couldn't wait to go to sleep just so I wouldn't be hungry! Hang in there.  Just think maybe you are losing weight! :)

be glad it is since last night.  When I had my gall bladder removed they weren't sure what the problem was an when they would do surgery  I was NPO Saturday with removal done Weds Afternoon and NPO until thurs morning.  That was years before surgery, I have no issues with NPO now.

That made me laugh too. I understand. I hate when they schedule any procedure for afternoon when yu can't eat or drink. I'd much prefer 6 a.m.

For my recent surgery, I had  my last decent meal 24 hours before the surgery, then the bowel prep, in addition to two types of antibiotics and antifungals to clean my entire digestive system out...... surgery was also delayed a couple of hours, so I was 26 hours without food before I even had the surgery.....then they wouldn't allow me to consume anything postop until I had passed gas....another full 24 hours. for someone who eats every three hours like clockwork, that is a LONG time to go without food! Luckily they allowed me to sip on a RTD protein shake while waiting for the all-clear (they actually wouldn't have allowed me, but one nurse said I could eat anything I wanted and only later .... before I ate anything darnit.... was I told I was restricted to ice...... but I'd already had my protein shake so they let me continue.

Don't be alarmed if your weight is up temporarily postop.... all those IV fluids will pump you up and you mmight be ten pounds heavier when you come home. The GREAT thing is that they go awaay quick.

~Lady Lithia~ 200 lbs lost!

I know it's not funny, but you made me giggle.  You're a very good sport.

Hope they're feeding you by the time you read this.
