2:1 Protein Bars- anyone tried??? Nutrition guideline ?

Hello, I am pre-op and am currently trying different protein drinks/mixes (I haven't found my Goldilocks one yet!!!) and bars to see what I like. I recently found these 2:1 (they also have 3:1, 5:1) protein bars in my local GNC. They are made in Pittsburgh (where I live) so I am not sure how widely distributed they are, but they are amazing. I have liked every flavor I tried and normally I think protein bars taste chalky.

However, my question is- what are the nuitrition guidelines for protein bars? Like how many calories should I be aiming for in ratio to how many carbs and grams of protein.

Thanks for any advice you can give me!

This is my personal guideline for protein bars.  1 gm protein for each 10 calories.  So a 200 calorie bar must have 20 or more grams of protein - and for me - less than 9 gm carbs.

Many protein bars are very high calorie and don't give you much protein.  I would stay away from them.  They are more of a candy bar - and we are going for the protein, protein, protein.

I looked at them, and some of them have a lot of Sugar alcohols. Some of us have issues with that. So be careful when chosing them.  (i.e. I can't tolerate more than a few 3-4) gr of sugar alcohols.

If you base it on Netcarbs then they don't come in to bad.  I have seen them targeted as a pre/post workout supplement.  It really depends on the type of protein in them which I haven't looked at.

I eat a 2:1 oatmeal bar each morning for breakfast.  Super low sugar and 30G of protein.  Takes about 30 mins to eat too, which is cool.
