Is this normal?
I was wondering. Today for the first time ever since surgery (almost 8 weeks ago) I was able to eat most of a fried egg. Usually I am only able to get in about 1/2 but for some reason today I just felt more able to eat than in the past. My day's calorie total is 731. My nut and doc jumped on me a couple weeks ago because I wasn't getting in enough calories. They wanted me to get a minimum of 800 daily, but still almost a whole egg? It kinda scares me. Please, some advice?
You'll have bottomless pouch days and then some days you can't eat or don't feel hungry...just make sure that you are getting in your protien and vitamins and water. You should be fine. I think you are doing fine. Try making egg salad with light mayo instead of frying your egg. Add a little salt and pepper. I would barely make it through half an egg and then I made it through a whole egg. If you can't fini**** or can barely fit it don't force it. It's ok.
I am 7 years post op, and have issues with my stoma.
i would LOVE to be able to eat a whole egg.
embrace you can get your protein :-)
