What if I want to be done losing?

Thursday makes my nine months out of surgery and I have been doing great. I am very happy weight/size wise so what if I want to be done losing weight. I mean I never wanted to be bone skinny or anything just comfortable and able to run around healthy.
My DH had been telling me so much lately that Im getting too skinny and should probably start trying to stop losing.

So my question is do you just stop losing at some point? I go see my surgeon next Tuesday and plan on asking him, but does your body just get to a point where you are done?

Thanks :)

for MOST people it equalizes on its own. A lot of folks aim for a low weight 10 to 15 lbs below their target so that the inevitable bounce back lands them where they want to be.

Hi!

I agree with Lady Lithia.  You are probably better off just letting your body find it's "happy weight" rather than trying to stop it.  I am speaking from experience here.  When I got down to 135 lbs back in September (which was 5 lbs below my goal weight), I thought it was time to "stop", so upped my calories and settled into maintenance.  Well, to make a long story short, I wish I had just let my body do what it wanted to do and perhaps go lower than 135 because I ended up gaining 11 1/2 lbs up to 146 1/2.  Not happy.  So now I'm working hard to get the weight off, and I've lost 4 lbs so far.

It is far easier to keep losing in your honeymoon phase than try to get rid a re-gain later on.

The family saying your "too skinny" is a common refrain.
Your ticker says you still want to lose 24 pounds for your goal. I think this is a great issue to
discuss with your doctor.
Good luck

Yes.  You stop losing when you begin taking in as many calories as you burn in a day.

Please note: I AM NOT A DOCTOR.  If you want medical advice, talk to your doctor.  Whatever I post, there is probably some surgeon or other health care provider somewhere that disagrees with me.  If you want to know what your surgeon thinks, then ask him or her.    Check out my blog.

My husband told me that too, about Thanksgiving time.  I've continued to eat the same calories and same food plan and continue to lose each month, but really slowing down.  My plan is to continue with what I'm doing and see where my body levels out.  I do want to get below my goal so when I have "bounceback" weight that so many have, I will be nearer to my origional goal.

PS - I just don't tell DH that I lost another pound - like I used to.  He doesn't even mention it any more.
