Finally a protein powder I tolerated and ????
I knew i needed to get in more protein but I was really struggling with it. I have been able to to the RTD Atkins shakes but they only have 15g in the 11 oz. and I "supposed" to have just 6 oz. Well, I probably do closer to 9 oz of the Atkins. And today I added one scoop of the Isopure Vanilla to it and a bit of PB2. So I got in almost 40g in the shake! I think I need to just realize that I will need to do shakes for breakfast - and that's life! :-)
Now for some questions.... don't flame me please...
I concentrate on protein, but I need to do it in creative ways that are satisfying to me. I need to find alternatives that can help me on my long term positive relationship with food. I am indeed a true fan of Bariatric foodie - I can't do the full portions but I love the creative and satisfying ways to change old habits into healthy habits.
Yesterday I discovered Thomas' makes a muffin with 6 grams of protein and 6 grams go fiber, and only 2 g of sugar... and it is whole grain!!! Woohooo. There are so many protein things I can put on it that will make it a great thing for me.
So - wondered if anyone else had found these. When carbs are complex (not white stuff) do you use them? It seems to me the complex carbs such as whole grain, etc. are a good thing to practice for lifetime.
Also - as others have mentioned before I got some of the protein "snacks". each has at least 10 g of protein. If you ever have these, when do you have them and how often? Tomorrow night is movie night at the church and we make popcorn. I thought a pack of these would be a good alternative for me.
My plan does allow whoel grain pasta, breads, etc. Of course if eaten at the same time as protein.
Thanks for responses.
