8 months out with pictures

Yesterday I went shopping with my husband.  I browsed around Old Navy while he was looking for jeans and found a cute dress to try on (I figured what the heck, I'd see if it fit) and I needed a tank top to put under shirts so I could go from out with friends to school to church without feeling like my chest was on parade.  I tried on a L tank and was pleasantly surprised that it was almost too big.  I bought it anyway because they were out of mediums.  The dress that I assumed would have to be mammoth in order to fit was literally a tent on me.  I guess my mind still has some catching up to do because at least at Old Navy I'm much smaller than an XXL like I keep thinking I must still be.

Day before surgery:  At the time, I was unable to put my arms straight down by my side or put my legs together like a normal person. Makeup looked like clown paint and I was getting dangerously close to not being able to buy off the rack at Avenue.

Today just 8 months later:

You are looking AWESOME and happy!! I'm just over 8 months and we're about on the same amount of loss. I haven't visited Old Navy at this point because I feel like I would spend way too much money on way too many items that I'll be out of soon enough. My 14's are already starting to loosen and I've only been in that size for a month. I'm relying on hand-me-downs from others, a few garage sale items and some $4 t's from WalMart. It's all so awesome though!! Keep up the good work!!
Highest ever: 297
Pre-Op: 272 (height: 5' 7")
As of November 3rd: 159 (6 BELOW goal!!!!)
Goal: 165
Pants size: 10  Shirt size: M

I'm still carrying all my weight in my stomach so I'm not going down in sizes like most people do.  I'm heading down the size ladder but at slow enough a pace that I'm not minding buying the occasional pair of shorts or jeans to get me through to the next size.  Of course this means that I have a size 20 pair of jeans, a size 18 pair of capris and a size 16 pair of denim shorts.  They are all functional, so I'm good for another 20 pounds I thin****il I HAVE to reassess the wardrobe.  Being a full-time student makes my choices I have to wear really easy.  I have 1 pair of dress pants that I put on every Sunday and some day hope to have to replace those.

CONGRATS!  You look wonderful and your message sounds as though you might feel even better than wonderful!  Your legs look a lot happier, too.  8)

I'm 17 mos. out - and am hanging around 120 lbs lost.  I'm 5'5" and 146 lbs.  I never really had a weight goal - just hoped to get to 160.  I often thank my bones for looking after me for so long!  Now I have to remember to keep thanking them by taking my vites and calcium citrate.

My health goals of stopping diabetes, high blood pressure and sleep apnea have all been reached!

So glad you're taking the time to share your progress.

Way to go Jane, you look awesome!!!  Doesn't it feel so good to have less to lose then what you have lost already.  It was liking getting over that 1/2 way hump and just got better from there

Feels fantastic! When I finally consistently hit a loss above 75 pounds I knew I'd really accomplished something.  After getting there, the last half seems like it should be easy (although I know it won't be).  My friends joke that with the new child safety seat laws, my fat that I've lost can officially ride in the front seat without a car seat.  LOL

You are looking great. It's weird about those clothing sizes. You just have to try them on.

Is it wrong that everytime I see your post I think about roundrock donuts?

Part of the issue is thinking I won't fit into smaller stuff and part of it is that the standard sizes are just screwy since I was last in them.  There seemed to be a much more standard size across stores 25 years ago than there is now (not to mention that I wore a size 3 back then that is more than likely being marketed as a 00 these days based on what my daughter wears).

LOL  You know I only live about 4 miles down the road from Round Rock Dontus....(and my church sells them between services).
