Jerky??
i use to make jerky all the time, my family loves it...i have not in a while and now that i am post op, have not even thought about it..but jerky is costly so i always made mine own...20-30 pounds at at time when i would find beef on sale...
here is my jerky receipe
about 20 lbs of beef bottom round, you can ask the butcher to cut it up in like strips for stir fry...
i would get HIGH COUNTRY jerky seasoning from lincoln montana, it has like 4 packets in one box..i wouuld double the meat on the back of the recipe....
and bottles of liguid smoke....thats it....i would mix the meat with the high country seasoning and liquid smoke, let sit over night in a huge bowl, put plastic wrap around first then tin foil......then i would put on my dehydrator over night and just keep drying and roatating...the first stuff on the dryer would be less spicey but the stuff as the bottom of the bowl would be more spicey as it sat longer in the bowl while waiting to its turn to dry...it would take me just a couple of days to dry all the meat...but it would ast a long time...well longer than a package would in my house...
anyhow check it out if you want to make your own jerky, its not that hard...same mess to make 10 pounds at 30 pounds..just a litte longer to dry...
have a great day
