Totally NORMAL!! I didn't lose an ounce - not ONE my second and third week. The scale is moving again now though. Just keep following the plan your surgeon gave you - it'll work if you learn how to use your 'tool' - that is, your new pouch! I posted the SAME question a few weeks back - and I got the SAME responses - other people have had the same experience - you're not alone! Keep up the good work!

If I'm reading your post correctly, you lost 25 lbs in 10 days. That is a huge amount of weight to lose! Some of which was probably fluid. Over the past five days you have probably been losing fat and maintaining normal fluid balance. Don't get discouraged. In one of the previous posts I read that on average, most people lose 20 lbs the first month and 10 lbs a month thereafter.

Yes it's normal. I lost weight the first couple of weeks and then stalled for three weeks. It finally started dropping again. Just hang in there.

It is normal to go days without weight loss. I had the surgery on Febuary 3, 2011 started at 319 and this morning I weigh 260. I got very discouraged because I got on the scales everyday and would go 5 days without any loss and then on the 6 day over night lose 5 pounds. You go days without loseing anything. I finally had to decide that I was only gonna weigh once a week because everyday was just too much for me to handle. Going 5 days without loseing anything is very discouraging. When you have had such a huge surgery, and you know you eat very little

I'm almost certain your body is still saying "What the heck is happening here!?" I would be freaking out too, but try to relax and let your body do its thing.

Good luck!

And huge Congrats on the 25lbs!

Hide the scale for a week.  Then only weigh once weekly after that.  Do not focus on the number on the scale alone.  Take your measurements. Pay attention to NCV's like your clothes feeling loose, being able to climb stairs without being SOB.  Your body will level out and you will not lose as big amounts of weight at one time.  This is totally normal.  Your body has to take time to heal itself and get used to the changes occurring after major surgery.

HUGS.  I do feel your pain though.  But remember we did not get fat overnight and we will not lose the weight overnight as well.

Your body is still adjusting! Give it time. You didn't gain all your excess weight in 2 weeks, it's certainly not going to come off that quickly. Your skin, your body and your newly re-routed insides need time to heal, figure out what you did to them and be able to adapt. It all takes time. You're too early out to worry about this not working. Get in all your protein if you can, if not it will come later. Drink lots of water and exercise. It will come off and you'll find the slower it comes off the better you are - your skin will get a chance to shrink back, your body will better use your metabolism, and you'll have a bit more time to be in each size of clothing on the way down.
Good LUck and remember patience (which means throw away the scale) LOL
