Lets just say for example a serving size is 3oz according to a fictional package.
Lets also say that the Nutritional info says it has 9g protien, 3g of carbs, 3g sugar and 300g of salt.

If I can only eat 1oz, am I allowed to divide all that by 3 to get my Nutritional facts?

thanks

Yup.  That'll get  you in the ballpark anyway.    =)

I do it all the time.  Same goes for doubling serving sizes (not that that happens for me too much anymore).

I'm no nutritionalist, but in my head that sounds correct!

Yep, except if you really ate 300g of salt, it would probably kill you, so stay away from those fictional packages!   =0

Yep! You're right - About 100g is considered to be a lethal dose for most adults! LOL Of course, we all know she meant 300mg!

And just as a side note, I use www.mynetdiary.com (There's an Apple and Droid app that go with it too, just FYI) - no math required - just put in the nutrition facts (most foods are already in the database) and put in how much you actually ate, and it does all the math for you! You can also track your water, exercise, and vitamins/meds using this. For the math-challenged like me - this has been a godsend!
