Carbmaster Yogurt - good protein??

I'm spending some time answering the phone at my mom's office just for something to do since I'm currently unemployed AND I'm about to drive myself insane staying at home.  This is my first day having to pack a lunch.  I just brought a yogurt and a protein shake for lunch.  The shakes aren't allowed on my plan after I can have food but I figured I'd play it safe today.

Okay the point is I was checking the ingrediants and one of the first is whey protein concentrate.  So does this mean that carbmasters isn't a good protein source for us?  I'm doing pretty good getting all my protein in from chicken and fish and some cheese but the yogurt is good and it helps satisfy my sweet craving.  I'm assuming the whey protein concentrate is just added for extra protein.

Any thoughts?  It's not a bad snack regardless but I need to know if I should count it towards my daily protein totals.

Thanks!

carb master is an excellent choice for protein.  Like Greek yogurt it has more protein than 'regular' yogurts.

Not so much anymore.  It used to have 12 gm protein in the 6 oz but they've changed it to 8gm protein in 6 oz.

I've written the company -but no reply yet.

Greek yogurt is 6 oz for 12-15 gm protein,  You either use it as sour cream - as is, or flavor and sweeten it.

I was wondering about the TYPE of protein.  It looks like they added whey protein concentrate to boost the protein content.  And we're supposed to look for the whey protein isolate in supplements.

I've emailed my NUT, we'll see what she says.

Thanks!

i have been eating the oikos brand of greek yogurt, i have been getting the strawberry, they are 4 oz packages, they have 10 grams of protein...
here is what is on the back of the box...
calories 90...o everyting else, fat, cholestrol etc...
sodium is 60 mg...carbs is 12 grams..i am sure thats the strawberry in it...
and 10 grams protein..
i find them at wal mart in the smaller 4 oz size..just right for me...my local publix had them also, but they were like double the size and i could not eat them all...i eat with a single slice of the cheddar cheese in the single serve 1 oz packets...so that adds another 7 protein..so thats not too bad for the 2 of them..
this greek yougurt has 4 flavors..i like the strawberry..had the blueberry,...it was ok...have not tried the other 2..honey and like a carmel type....
just a thought
have a great day
