I need your opinion....do you think it's possible

for me to reach my goal weight of 160 pounds by this Fall.  I weighed 300 pounds the day of my surgery (2-8-11) and I am now a little over 2 months out.  I track my calories daily and always make sure they are below 900 (many times much less, but my NUT wanted me to get in a minimum of 800).  I work out at least 4 times weekly (sometimes more often) at a gym doing elliptical, rowing machine and weights.  I also have started playing basketball once a week too.  So far my weight loss has been rapid and I am very pleased, but I know as I get lighter and closer to goal it will slow.  Am I just dreaming to think 160 by October is possible?  Please advise....I realize no one can read the future, I just want your opinions.  Thank you :)

It's possible.

I had surgery at 293, my goal was 154..... I made that in 29 months

I did get down to 160 by 20 months though

And I did NOT work out

But is your goal really an arbitrary and frankly meaningless number on the scale? or is it a size you are looking for? Because honestly, some people get to the size they want but get all hung up on the number on the stupid box on the floor.

Thank you Lithia :)  I guess it's just a number that I am hung up on.  I thought back to high school and when my husband and I first started dating and I weighed around 160-170 then so I guess that's why.  You are right though, I shouldn't be so hung up on a number.

MOST people who are goign to hit goal, hit it sooner than 29 months.

I was convinced I was DONE at 12 months, and I stopped doing anything extra to lose more, because I was quite happy with my 12 month weight (185)

I am hoping to reach my goal by my 1 year mark which is December.
So far I am on track for way before that.  I would like to be 100 lbs down by June, but that is 30 more to go by - I will give myself - to the end of June.

Our stats are identical!!  I'm 8 months out and just hit 188 this morning.  This gives me hope I can make my goal even though I think I'm a slow loser!!! Thank you so much for sharing!! :)

For me - I reached goal at about 16 months post-op - then got sick and went way below goal. Life happens - you just never know - and please remember that all of us lose differently! Good luck!
