Surgery was 3/14 and my surgeons plan is regular diet.

Protein Shake- 30grams/180 calories

Breakfast-Half an egg w/ salsa 3 grams/55 calories

Lunch-morning star veggie patty w/ cheese 11 grams/120 calories

So thats 355 calories and 44 grams of protein.
I need 16 more grams of protein...any dinner suggestions?? and how does my eating habits look? i've been white carb free and havent had whole grain bread/crackers even tho my plan allows it.
Thank you!! -Nicole

Well first off, half an egg is more like 35 calories, not 55, but your protein for it is correct.

My overall impression is you're not getting a lot of calories. But you're only a month out so that's understandable. But if you don't get more in you are going to stall HARD very fast. It's hard getting it all in though. I had a similar problem early out.

What do you like? I like cottage cheese and 1/4 c. gives you 7g protein. Or you could do 1/2 c. Greek yogurt (about 10g protein). Tuna has 10g protein in 1/4 c. If you mix it with 2 tbsp of greek yogurt and 1 tsp of mayo it'll be moist AND you still get the protein of the yogurt.

I'd also try to work in another protein shake into your day somewhere. That can be a drag but you have to get your protein and calories in.

Are you allowed nuts? One ounce of nuts is about 200 calories and gives you 7g of protein and good fat (you don't absorb fat well at this point, but it's still good to get in the habit of eating mostly good fats).

Hope that helps. Feel free to ask questions if you need to!
