Eating Anger, Hurt and Fear

I like all the responses here. Lora made some good points - if you have to eat extra, eat protein. And my favorite is staying busy. I love crafts and find it easy to lose myself in a project and not eating instead. Reading. Other hobbies? Get out of the house. Window shopping. Movies. Time with friends. Pampering if you can afford it... facial, massage, hair, nails. Hang in there.

Hi Joyce,

HUGS to you and to say you are not alone.  I witnessed this in my own family and have heard too many stories of this from friends, dealing with the same thing.  As someone said and you know, the food doesn't make you feel better with the emotions, only makes you feel more out of control and probably ignites the negative feelings.  Agree with others - get the body moving in some way to kick in those good endorphins and take your mind off things for a little while.

Take care of yourself ~

Joyce....exercising helps me too. Getting on the treadmill or out for a walk with my headphones on blocks out the world. For that period of time my mind gets a rest. Remember, this is a journey. We're all learning as we go along.

As for the other situation.....I can imagine how hurt and angry you are. And you're also grieving the loss of your parents. You may want to also schedule an appointment with an attorney to discuss the situation and what options there may be for you and your other siblings.

Hang in there lady! Sorry for your loss and that you are in pain.   Emotional eating will always be an issue for most of us. If possible, try to channel some of  those feelings in another direction, i.e., arts-n-crafts, take long walks, go to a museum. Don't let whatever that one person has/has not done, harm "you". You are most important!

Take care and I wish you the best.
