Multivitamin (Centrum is good) in the morning and evening. Flintstones and Gummy vites are NOT GOOD
Calcium CITRATE (citracal is good) if it's too large, dissolve it in your beverage..... 1500 mg at least, broken into three doses, morning noon evening. Read the label on the bottle carefully to make sure what a serving is.... it is often two pills to make 500 or 600 mg

Keep an eye on your B12 levels if they are not 600 or more, you probably need to supplement better.

Iron should be taken before bed, at least two hourss after your calcium and multivitamin with vitamin C but nothing else .

B-complex is a good idea, I take one a day.

You probably  need more than two calcium.  We need 1500-2000 mg calcium daily and I've never seen one that had at least 750 mg per pill.

Most people do a routine something like this:

Breakfast - multi, calcium, biotin, B complex, D3

Lunch- calcium

Dinner- multi, calcium

Bedtime - iron, vitamin C.

Kelly, does the iron need to be taken at bed time? I take mine 2-3 hours after taking my morning vitamins. At bed time I usually take my Nexium!

Thanks in advance,
Rosemary

No, it doesn't have to be at bedtime.  Bedtime is easy for many people because it needs to be about two hours away from calcium.  But there's nothing magical about iron and bed.

Kind of off the subject here.....
Did your doctors tell you how much protein they wanted you to get?
Mine said 70 - 90 grams. BUT, I just read a USDA article where the average adult needs .8 grams of protein for every kilogram. Which means a 250 pound NON wls patient needs 90.72 grams of protein.  Shouldn't we have more to make up for malabsorption?

The lady sitting next to me in support group has lost 140 pounds and she looks great, virtually no loose skin on her face, arms or tummy. She contribute it to maintaining a 110 gram protein diet during the first year while she was actively losing weight and now that she is in maintenance mode she sticks to 90 grams, but she is 145 pounds now.
