I've seen this and was wondering what it is?

basically a 5-day liquid diet.  Some people use it to help them get back on track, but some say it is back to the old 'on a starvation diet' thinking.

Sorry, you are right.  My thinking shorthand isn't working.

I went to that website the book is expensive, they have it bundled with some other book.  When do people generally feel they need this, around 1 year?

There are a number of people who think the Five Day Pouch Test is a crock

I haven't really devoted much time to thinking about it, but have agreed with some of the negative press I've read on it.

Basically it's like a "reset" button for the pouch, but there aer some issues...

It shouldn't be used as a means of losing weight, and if that is why you are doing it, then you aren't doing yourself any favors.

It likely will mess up an already messed up metabolism

if it is done to get your head on straight, that is a good positive outcome....

Going back to the basics (protein first, no drinking with meals, no simple carbs in abundance) will get you to the same place easier and keep you there longer

but again....these are what I've read.

I didnt buy the book, just clicked on the plan and read from there. It really is for much later when you need a kick in the pants. I was snacking on cheese and crackers and and other crap and never lost my last 8 pound and have since gained about 8 so now I am trying to get rid of the last 20 for good. This kick in the butt worked for me and i was never hungry, just have to remember not to drink a 1/2 hour before and after i ate and stay away for for complex carbs.
