I am currently just over 5 weeks post op and have not had a period yet. Prior to surgery I was VERY regular.... every 28 days. Now I'm going on almost 2 weeks late. Is this normal? I've heard of people having periods for a prolonged period of time but not much about not having one at all. I also am aware that my body has/is going thru some major changes. I'm just curious if this has happend to anyone else and if so, how long was it before you had your period? I have a check up appointment next week with my surgeon and another one with my pcp and I will discuss this with them but in the mean time........... can you guys help me?? Thanks!

When I had my gallbladder out, I actually skipped a period. Weird. But with my RNY, I had my period like clockwork. It all depends on how bipolar Mother Nature is feeling at the moment with our monthly gift I suppose! Some women miss or have late periods after surgery - some have them like clockwork - some women have looooonger periods. If you're in doubt, I would definitely contact your gyne. That's my two cents!

Im sure its just your body freaking out with all the changes and stress youve gone through. As a safety measur have you taken a pregnancy test?
