There have been several studies with the same conclusion. Here are some links.

I weigh every day, have from three weeks out
But I caution ANYONE who does this has to have a very strong understanding of a few things.
1. YOUR weight is NOT a single number. It will CHANGE from hour to hour, day to day. Understanding that it is a flexible entity that falls within a 10-pound range when you are morbidly obese, to a 8 pound range when obese, to a six pound range when overweight, and a 5 pound range when a normal BMI will save you heartache.
2. You should EXPECT a lengthy stall somewhere around the two to three week mark.... mine lasted for THIRTY FIVE DAYS
3. Your weight is influenced by your bowel movements, your period, your salt intake, your stress, and sheer orneriness on your body's part.
4. You should, if you want to weigh daily (after you get a sensible scale), weigh every morning .... if possible buck naked after your morning potty break and before your shower.. Write down your weight, and mark it somehow if you are on your period.
5. If you weigh at any other TIME or any other PLACE or with any other SCALE those measures don't count. You ccan only have one official scale. So if your scale at home says you are 220, don't flip out if your surgeon's scale, with you fully dressed, later in teh day has you weighing fifteen pounds more. ONLY the official scale matters.
6. MY weight loss included weight GAIN about seven out of every 28 days. ONE entire week out of every four where I would gain gani gain evvery day.
If you can't handle the scale, and all it's ups and downs, then don't weigh that often.
Myself.... I was fascinatd with the numbers.

Data is fun - but only if it doesn't make you nuts. If it does, stay the %^&%$ away from it! It's nice to find others who understand that!

I weigh myself once a week, every Tuesday since I had my surgery on a Tuesday. I would love to weigh everyday but I think I would drive myself crazy. It's hard enough when the scale doesn't move as much as I want it to every week being so early out in this surgery. However as long as it is not moving up, I am still being successful.
