I must be a whack job!
Well As I posted on the Exercise and Fitness forum I am officially insane.
I have made it official and registered for my first triathalon, which will be in june and 11 months after my surgery. The following month I will be running in a 10K slightly before my 1 year surgical anniversary.
Needless to say that 12 months ago I never would have imagined that I would be entering these types of events as at the time my only goal was to finish a mile and not be totally out of breath. Now I run 5K races and to my suprise I enjoy them!
So for those who are trying to decide if having surgery would improve your life all I can say is that is has completely changed my life. I have a life that I love and am fairly proud of, I do have my moments, but they seem to not happen as often or last as long.
Thanks to everyone here for the support and friendship.
oh yeah and I am nuts!

Congratulations! I started running (OK, shuffling) a month after my surgery, and I'm starting to think about entering 5Ks. I've registered for a marathon in January, 2 days before my surgiversary. I'll probably one of the last ones across the finish line, but I'm going to finish or be dragged off the course. :)
