10 days out and 7 lbs down from morning of surgery. i know i have a long way to go. peppered with uncertainty and disappointments but for right now, for this moment i am happy. and i am grateful to be alive. i have been extremely fortunate so far in that i've been feeling very good during this dificult time. i wish the best for all of you out there who have yet to undergo this and everyone who has already begun their journeys. one day at a time.

Wow...glad you are doing so good....I am 4 days out, and not feeling great...having problems getting all my liquids in..I am still on pain meds and they make me sleep...so have to cram everything in while I am awake..which is not a lot of the time! I feel very groggy, but NOT hungry....has your pain diminished?
How are you doing with your protein?

Hi!

I am 11 days out and still very sore on my left side.  It is better than before, as long as am I "still", I don't need pain meds.  If I am up and moving around too much, I take a dose.  Today is probably the first day I have come close to finishing my protein!!!

Feel Better!

Hi,
I am 10 days out as well. Still sore on right side. I only take pain meds if I'm up and moving around to much.I now can get get in 70g of protein shakes in but in the first weeks I couldn't drink the protein for 4 days due to vomitting (but much better now).

I finally sneezed for the first time and I thought my incision was open(What and experience that was).Over all I feel pretty good and I'm looking forward to a slimmer, healthier me!. Praying for you and looking forward to hearing your sucess story.Keep up the good work.

my god sheila, i can't even imagine how you felt after your "sneezing" adventure. thank god you are fine. 8 years ago my mother had open RNY and i remember how difficult the entire ordeal was for her. you have my prayers as i wish you a very rapid and uneventful recovery.

as far as pain meds... i have now decided for the last 2 days to only take one before bedtime. i really don't need them. there is a small amount of discomfort if i twist or move too fast but otherwise i am now pain free. i know, life is very unfair and i am so sorry you ladies are having difficulty. i wish you all the best and please keep me posted on your recoveries.

we all have THIS to be grateful for... LIFE, and RENEWAL. love yourselves!!
