How many protein drinks a day do you drink?

Sorry, gotta disagree with you on this one, my dear. What about the masses of us who got ALL of our protein from DAY1 and STILL lost boatlaods of hair?!?!? I ahve not seen anything scientific that shows that additional protein will stop hair loss. LACK of protein can make it worse, of course, but that's entirely different.

Ok, bear with me... I'm still confused... but I think I'm still dehydrated (still shaky) so it's entirely possible I'm just being a space cadet.

Why would her hair loss at thsi point be a sign of protein deficiency rather than the normal post-surgery telogen effluvium?

I think we've well established that I am  uninformed and for whatever reason it's bugging the crap outta me, so I'm going to bow out of this conversation.

Have a good weekend.

I don;t understand your thinking.  Protein doesn't CAUSE hair loss, so why would you drop protein becayse your hair is falling out?!? Extra protein won't help hair loss, but not enough protein can make it worse.

How much protein are you getting in per day (with the additional shake)??

I was getting 70+ grams of protein in daily from day three postop. 70+ oz liquid too..... I still lost a TON of hair.

I had surgery at 18 months, and lost the hair again (and my protein was likely 100 g daily)

Last fall I started losing my hair again..... I was STILL getting in 100+ g of protein, but I WAS malnourished and eating only 700 - 1100 calories a day. I have upped the calories and the hair loss has dropped..... though I expect it to go up again any day now, in response to my most recent surgery.
