First stomach "virus" after bypass--OMG. Stress???

I've been suffering off and on with a pretty nasty stomach issue since last Saturday. Was really sick Saturday and Sunday, better Monday then started having trouble Tuesday until earlier today. Felt fine most of today, then this evening, BAM! Again start the cramps and the cramps minus the M.

Do you find that stomach issues after bypass are more severe? I rarely, if ever, have stomach stuff, so this is really knocking me for a loop.

I'm under a tremdous amount of stress lately and am wondering if anyone has such severe stomach issues as a result of stress. I have to hope this is a virus and not stress because if this is the result of stress, I'm not sure I'm going to make it! I'm doing the BRAT diet and lots of fluids. These cramps are unbelievably painful--they rival labor pains. Suggestions? Thoughts? Witch doctor?

Wishing I had an epidural in place...

Definitely push the liquids.  I was allowed Imodium the one time I caught it.

I have had a very similar issue this whole week (no cramps, but nausea like crazy... in my REMNANT stomach!... and vomiting earlier in the week).  This is the first SERIOUS stomach/intestinal issue I have had since my RNY in 2007, so I cannot speak to whether they are worse post-o*****t.  THIS is pretty miserable, though.  (Had to go for IV fluids on Wed.) I have also been under a lot of stress the past couple of weeks, so it could be either a "bug" or stress in my case as well.

Anyway, you aren't alone. Hope you ... well, hope we BOTH... feel better soon!

My entire family got some nasty stomach virus when I was about 4 months post-op.  I was so miserable and afraid of dehdydration. I went to my PCP and he did give me Immodium and Phenergan.  Both helped tremendously.
Hope you are feeling better soon.
